4th Dolomiti Victory for Sally Bigham

The Topeak-Ergon Racing Team continues as a regular on the podiums of the world’s most important marathon races. Sally Bigham stands at the top of the 22nd Dolomiti SuperBike in Villabassa (IT) for the fourth time. Kristian Hynek misses the win by only 19 seconds.

It didn’t cost Iron Sally much effort to deal with her competitors, although it was a tough race. She took the lead early and never looked back. Eventually, it turned out to be a lead of 13 minutes over the Italian champion and season’s 8th, Valentina Frasisti.

At the men’s elite class the Colombian Hector Paez intensified the speed during the 119 kilometers of the marathon classic in South Tyrol. When climbing to the top station of the Rotwand, he carved out a 50 second lead. However, what looked like the decision, didn’t quite work out.

Kristian Hynek from the Topeak-Ergon Racing Team never gave up. He abandoned the field and took up the pursuit and was only slowed down by riders of other distances. ”I was more careful than usual on the descends due to the slippery track. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough in the end. Paez was already in sight. When it comes to my fitness, I’m very content when looking ahead to the Transalp,” says the WC third. Second best in the world, Alban Lakata took fifth on the podium and considers himself very well equipped for the Transalp, which takes place next Sunday with the first stage from Imst to Nauders in Austria.
